The Adventures of [Liam]

Had an interview yesterday, at what turned out to be a copymat location in the financial district. Three cheers for professional validation. After I got the call-back, I double-checked the craigslist posting and saw that they wanted someone with Pre-Press skills, and expertise in Quark XPress. I decided to get the gears in motion, and set about "finding" quark xpress and learning from how.com, wikipedia and Rylan exactly what the hell "Pre-Press" really consists of.

Did well in the interview, and I think on the Quark skills test as well.

Which was good, I suppose... foresaw it going something like this:
Interviewer: "What do you know about Pre-Press?"
Me: "I think freedom of information in the Philippines is of the utmost importance."
Interviewer: ...
Me: "Get it? Pree press? Preedom ob in-por-mayshee-on in de Pilippines?"
Interviewer: ...
Interviewer: ...
Me: "Because like--"
Interviewer: "Get the fuck out."

In other news, if you grind up green tea and put in in an espresso maker, you make something like espresso. except green, sludgy and unusable.

Nothing reinforces pride in your work like

ooooh [Liam]

Say this out loud:
"I'm going to Taco Bell to get some Mexican food."

It feels like swearing, doesn't it? Awesome.

(by the way... if you post without a title, it won't do the whole header / name / photo deal -brog2 building super)

I haven't actually seen any of the episodes myself, I only heard of the premise of the new Survivor series from the TV commercial. And I kinda sorta looked at the website. Which totally makes me worthy of an opinion.

At any rate, it sounds like it all started when someone decided that the show could use some diversity. But oh wait, not only should we have some minorities on the show, but we should go even farther and have LOTS of minorities on the show, AND pit them against each other in a spectacular Battle of the Races. Oh, but then after contriving us some racial tension, we'll integrate them all and teach everyone a valuable lesson about teamwork, and Racism is Bad, It's Better When We Work Together. Look, we're doing a public service.

Mid-season tension: That undercover hapa guy. WHOSE SIDE IS HE ON?!?!
