the vatican makes some new rules, communist nostalgia, and won ton soup [amy]

1. Since Matt hasn't posted it, I will:
What would your commandment to drivers say?"
(Keep scrolling down, about halfway down the page)

2. Also, Ostel
(Though maybe not so funny if you had family members ratted out by Stasi informants.)

3. The best won ton in San Francisco is not on Clement, nor in Chinatown. Look to the cafeteria at the Geary Street Kaiser at Divisidaro. No foolin. About two inches in diameter, includes pork, shrimp, mushroom, and water chestnut. No msg. (Food at Kaiser is not allowed to kill you) 6 wontons with noodles. Good helping of spinach on top. $5.45.

But the Geary Kaiser is kind of strange in that the floors are organized by language. There are Chinese floors, and Spanish floors (that's what it says on the directory). If you speak neither, they can shunt you on to either one. On the one hand, I think it's great that they try to provide people with health care in their native language, and I guess this is an efficient way to do it. On the other hand, there's something about the segregation that doesn't feel quite right. And on a more basic level I just feel weird being the only one on the 7th floor not speaking (and unable to speak) Chinese, staff included. It's weird. But not a bad lunch.
