Proposal of Indefinite Moratorium... [Ben]

On the usage of the following two quotes by political commentators:

"He who fights with monsters should take care that he himself does not become one. And when you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."

-Friedrich Nietzsche

"War is the continuation of politics by other means."

-Carl von Clausewitz

Pundits use the second quote to reduce the argument of On War--generally considered one of the most important studies of all things martial ever written--to tautology.

Stop please. That is all.

tau·tol·o·gy /tɔˈtɒlədʒi/
–noun, plural -gies.
1. needless repetition of an idea, esp. in words other than those of the immediate context, without imparting additional force or clearness, as in “widow woman.”
2. an instance of such repetition.

^I had to look this up, but the unintentional meta-humor of entry 2 (I do realize the difference) demanded that I share.
