When my grandma found out that Michelle Obama has a vegetable garden at the white house, she took it be a sign that the first lady is "thrifty."

Despite the fact that most of the president's family food comes from other sources, and probably goes through a hojillion poison-elimination screens, this is how the logic works:

grow food at home = saving money = thrifty = WHAT A SMART LADY
